School Hours, Drop-Off & Pickup

 

School day hours:  7:55 a.m. – 2:20 p.m.

 

General Transportation Information:

Please allow 10 minutes before and after your scheduled bus pick up time to allow for bus routes to become complete. Any questions about bus times need to be directed to P-H-M Department of Transportation at (574) 258-9565.

Buses:

Buses will drop off and pick up students along the front sidewalk. All bus riders will enter and exit through Door A (front door).

No Car Traffic on Front Drive:
(7:30 – 7:55 a.m. and 2:00 – 2:30 p.m.)

Car traffic is not allowed on the school’s front drive while buses are present. 

K – 5th Grade Parent Drop-Off & Pickup :

  • Parents should enter the campus from Adams Road and drive to the drop-off/pickup zone behind the school along the back sidewalk.
  • Traffic safety personnel will direct cars to pull as far forward as possible before unloading and loading children. Please pull forward when directed to do so.
  • Once your car is alongside the sidewalk and the cars have pulled up as far as possible, children will exit the car on their own.
  • Children must only exit on the sidewalk side of the car. Safety personnel will not open car doors.
  • Parents should remain in their car at all times. Students will enter and exit the school through Door E (North door near IMC/Library).
  • Please do NOT park and walk students into school unless arrival is after 7:55 a.m.
  • If assistance is needed, you may park in the middle area of the back parking lot and escort your child(ren) to the sidewalk where they can continue on by themselves into the school.

Parent Drop-Off and Pickup Early Learning Academy:

  • Once our buses have dropped off all students and left the premises (after 7:55 a.m.), ELA parents will enter the campus from Adams Road and drive to the drop-off/pick-up zone in front of the school.
  • Parents should remain in their car, the ELA teacher will come out and escort your student from their car to the building.
  • In the afternoon, ELA parents will again enter the campus from Adams Road only after all afternoon buses have left the premises (after 2:30 p.m.) and display the car number the ELA teacher has assigned them.
  • Parents should remain in their car and the ELA teacher will escort the students from the building to their car. It will be the responsibility of the parent to buckle students into car seats.

Parent Drop-Off and Pickup of Penn Pals Students:

  • Penn Pals parents will enter the campus from Adams Road and drive to the drop-off/pick-up zone behind the school along the back sidewalk.
  • Parents should remain in their car, the Penn Pals teacher will come out and escort your student from their car to the building.
  • In the afternoon, Penn Pals parents will again enter the campus from Adams Road and display the car number the Penn Pals teacher has assigned them.
  • Parents should remain in their car and the Penn Pals teacher will escort the students from the building to their car. It will be the responsibility of the parent to buckle students into car seats.

Car Rider Tags are Required for Pick-Up:

  • We will issue tags for vehicles and tags for students. You must display a tag in your vehicle in order to pick up your student(s) in the car rider line.
  • Parents without a vehicle tag will have to come to the office to sign their student(s) out.
  • Student tags are attached to backpacks. Tags are available in the office. The first car tag is free. Extra car tags can be purchased for $5.00.
  • We thank you for keeping them from year to year, your number will not change while you are part of Mary Frank.
