Connecting with students

4th grade teacher Mrs. Lindsay Helman researched that the best way to start a student's day is to look them in the eye and greet them.

On the first day of school, together Mrs. Helman and her students came up with some “secret handshake” ideas settling on the one that they all liked the best.

Now every morning, Mrs. Helman connects with each one of her 28 students making them each feel special and cared for.
